FLOOD PLAIN HOUSE

The flood plain house is an addition project to an existing house on the Bay of Quinte. The design of the house was heavily informed by the strict building setbacks due to the sites proximity to both floodplains and wetlands.  The new form of the building carries a strong datum line on the façade to seamlessly connect the addition portions of the house to the existing. The N-S axis is strongly emphasized to maximize the unobstructed views of the water all throughout the house.
